However, Spurs are struggling to fit in larger events in time to meet their preferred opening date of January 13, with their Premier League clash against Manchester United.Test events were scheduled for successive Sundays on December 30 and January 6 but the first date is proving problematic because of a shortage of staff and police in the build-up to the New Year.According to The Times, Tottenham have be forced to alter their plans as the London derby between Crystal Palace and Chelsea taking place thatday is already stretching Metropolitan Police resources.Spurs are said to be making good progress after numerous costly setbacks, but the inability to open against United could result in the opening being put back to the following month. It is claimed the club are revising the January 13 opening date and could postpose their first game at the new stadium until February 2, when they face Newcastle United at home.Its another blow to supporters, a large majority of whom are losing their patience in waiting for their new home ground and have become sick of their temporary home of Wembley.3

Spurs were initially meant to spend one season at the Home of Football as the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was constructed, but that has stretched to 16 months due to a number of delays.It have proven a nightmare move for fans, with last weeks3-1 win over Southamptonbeing watched by a crowd of just 33,012 the clubs lowest league attendance since moving to the national stadium at the start of last season.Even players are becoming frustrated, with Danny Rose recently admitting he is ‘itching’ to move into the new stadium.3

The club have not publicly confirmed their plans for home matches beyond the Wolverhampton Wanderers game at Wembley on December 29 and they are expected to issue an update later this week.Being drawn away to Tranmere Rovers or Southport in the FA Cup third round has helped them, although a home fourth-round tie on the weekend of January 26 and 27 could present another dilemma for the club, and another frustration for supporters.
