McCarthy has been trying to force his way back into the Everton starting line-up but has not made any appearances since returning from injury.Marco Silva has preferred the midfield pairing of Andre Gomes and Idrissa Gueye.The Republic of Ireland international only has 18 months left on his contract and his understood to be eager to be playing regular first team football again.The Daily Mail report that Palace are interested in taking him on loan as Roy Hodgson looks to strengthen his squad before the end of the transfer window. McCarthy was signed by Everton from Wigan in September 2013 for 13million and forged a successful with Gareth Barry in midfield.He has played 132 times, scoring six goals, for the Toffees since joining but has managed just six appearances since the start of the 2017/18 season.Palace are three points clear of the relegation zone in the Premier League and are looking to bring in reinforcements to ensure their survival.Gary Cahill is reportedly an option but the 33-year-old is looking for more security over his contract and has already rejected a short term proposal from Fulham.
